Jamaica me crazyyy!!

Being its landmass is only slightly smaller than Connecticut, Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean. Jamaica is made up of six different regions: Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios, Port Antonio, Dunn’s river Falls, and Kingston. Each region brings its own culture to the table. Montego Bay has three world-renowned golf courses as well as world class resorts, Negril is known for its beautiful stretch of white sand, Ocho Rios and Dunn’s river Falls hosts a large cruise port. Port Antonio is considered the most beautiful part of the country, while Kingston is the capital of Jamaica and where the real culture lives.

The climate in Jamaica is a tropical one due to its temperatures averaging 85 degrees every day. However if you travel to the inland areas the temperatures will drop about 10 degrees. The more popular months to travel to Jamaica are in December and April versus the rainy season of June to November.

The food in Jamaica all depends on where you are eating. At most hotels and resorts the standard continental fare rather than traditional Jamaican food. In order to get this you must be willing to travel on the outskirts of the resorts. One restaurant in specific called Cosmo’s Seafood Restaurant and bar its particularly unique being it serves delicious fresh seafood at the same time you are sunning yourself.

One of the most popular hotels is the Geejam. Located on the hillside in Port Antonio it is made up of three pine cottages, three bedroom villas, and a deluxe suite. Made for the romantic couple looking to really get the Jamaican experience the hotel is dolled up with white-on-white interiors with a splash of jungle appeal. Inside the Geejam is also a bi-level lounged called Bushbar. This authentic restaurant serves dual purposes being a nightlife spot as well.

Speaking of nightlife, Jungle is a two-floored multi purpose party central. Picture an elaborate décor made up of potted plants, painted wall murals of animals, and even some live ones such as the caged snake and fishpond. Made up of both locals and visitors there is something for everyone to enjoy. There’s a sports bar with pool tables, a stage for live bands, a martini lounge, and a disco with a DJ stand facing a dance floor. When visiting here don’t expect an early night for the party goes until six in the morning, not that you would want to leave anyway.

Jamaica is a beautiful country full of culture as well as entertainment. You get the Caribbean feel without the boring status that can sometimes follow it. Here you can experience many new things as well as old time favorites. Jamaica is definitely a place to travel to.
